A Fine Historic Classical Mahogany Sheraton Pembroke Table, probably New York, c.1810, Southwick Provenance

This table is composed of solid beautifully figured mahogany throughout.  The top is of a solid, dense Cuban mahogany.  The feet are reeded and terminate in ball turnings at their end.  Interestingly, this table bears a family history, (see below) and was a museum deaccession, acknowledging that this is a fine historical document of small scale and in excellent condition.

A label inside the drawer reads: 

[This table] was given to me by my mo[ther], Charlotte … … …

[and m]arried James Martinier Sou[thwick o]f Newburyport
… has 2 children and 3 gran[dchild]ren. Mother gave
me this table + a gold mirror which belonged to her sist[er,]

I am writing this where I now reside, so as [to]
