Mahogany Drop Leaf Dining Table with Carved Acanthus Legs, New York, c.1810
This table relates to tables produced in New York at the early part of the 19th century and has beautifully figured solid mahogany leaves of ribbon grain mahogany with a delicate molded edge. (see New York Furniture at the New York Museum, #52) The castors are original and the wood exhibits an amber glow.
