Chinese Ancestor Portraits, 19th Century

This fine pair of portraits shows an official and his wife in ceremonial attire. Each is painted on paper, (probably rice paper), matted and framed. These portraits come from a New England estate. There is some visible fading on the portrait of the official, but is off to the side and does not obscure the art. They are in excellent condition.
