Mahogany Neoclassical Two-drawer Worktable, Probably New York, c.1820

This gutsy worktable, finished on all sides, retains a golden patina and is embellished with highly figured crotch-grain mahogany throughout the upper case, which retains its original drop pendants. The upper case is supported by a carved vase form support above saber legs with acanthus knees and small, New York style boxy paw feet.
