Important Set of Eleven Neoclassical Girandole Side Chairs, c.1810

These Girandole chairs have side stiles that fully contour from the upper crest down to the front seat rail and terminate with lamb’s tongue carving. The backsplat is carved of solid mahogany (no veneers) and has classic gothic embellishment flanking the side rails. The feet are a highly stylized klismos form with scrollwork embellishments with rear legs showing an elegant rake.
