Renaissance Revival Center Table New York, c.1880
This table is related to inlaid work of the time coming from shops such as Herter Bros. This is a tour de force of inlays, ebonized wood, rosewood veneer and figured maple above an incised mahogany apron above elaborately stylized reeded legs. This table was reduced at the top of each leg (about 4 inches) to serve as a coffee table.
