When closed, this small-scale table looks like a neoclassical pembroke table with center column and New York style saber legs with gold leaf paw feet. When open, the split column reveals a central leg supporting an elaborate accordion structure. The leaves are all solid ribbon-grain mahogany. It is rare to see a Neoclassical dining room table using this form, which was more prevalent later in the century.
