Neoclassical Rosewood Recamier, Boston, c.1820-30.
This elegant and stately recamier relies on a classic form embellished with acanthus carving as a focal point above its tapered turned leg, its form is typical of Boston work. The other front leg, as a balance, has a carved rosette above its leg on the apron; note the turned leg. The back rail is retrained with a small wood reveal accenting its form.
