This sofa is one of a small grouping of New Hampshire furniture that has been recognized as the best of its type. It is of grand proportions with a deep seat to accommodate side cushions and perhaps a full seating cushion. The crest rail is banded generously with mahogany that continues through the arms. There is a desirable flame birch inset at the center of the crest. The arm supports are extended out giving a sense of importance and are turned with carved leaves.
