A Diminutive Chippendale Block Front Chest, Boston, c.1780

This is the smallest block front chest we have ever encountered.  The case width is an unheard of 32 inches. In the world of these chests, size matters greatly.  Generally, chests vary between 36/38 inches.  The most desirable are 34 inches as they can function not only as a storage chest but also serve beside a bed.  A 32 inch wide chest, however, is unique and although there are restorations to the bracket feet, which would usually have excluded it from our collection, the uniqueness of its size makes it a keeper.

Height: 31 in.  Width: 32 in. Depth: 19 3/4 in.
