This monumental sideboard was gifted by The Stanley Weiss Collection to the The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts. (www.mesda.org.)
Several inches higher than a normal sideboard and probably almost a foot longer, this intricately inlaid sideboard was probably intended for a grand mansion or a federal building, as at the time Philadelphia was burned down, and the government was moved to Baltimore.
