A Carved Mahogany Chippendale Turret-cornered Card Table, England, c.1780

This is a masterpiece of the turret table form.  Note the large drawer in the apron with its original brass.  Below this brass pull is a beautifully carved shell not seen in American examples.  Further, the edge molding below the apron is fully carved.  Also note the carving on the knee with not only a shell that is elaborately carved but with additional scroll work, etc.  The cabriole legs are well sprung and terminate in a desirable claw and ball.

This table has the label of Jack Partridge, one of the most highly regarded dealers in English furniture with a gallery in New York.
