A Classical Mahogany 2-Drawer Server/Dresser, New York, Phyfe School, c.1810-30

DEACCESSIONED

This is a quintessential New York Classical server of the Phyfe school.  The top is composed of solid striped mahogany  and the mahogany throughout is vibrant with its historic surface under a finely French polished finished.  There  are no repairs, breaks or alterations, and the pulls are traditional Sandwich glass of best quality.

These are used as servers in a dining room, or as a dressing table in a bedroom (with the addition of a mirror above).  We have handled a number of pieces of this form, and currently offer a related Baltimore server.
