A Fine Inlaid Cherry Federal/Sheraton Bureau, New Hampshire, c.1805-1815

DEACCESSIONED

This chest is beautifully executed and embellished with the top most desirable elements in this grouping of furniture.   Note the beautiful satinwood drop panel (and view close-ups).  The case is further embellished and supported by strongly reeded columns, with tapered/reeded feet, almost reminiscent of New York, Phyfe style furniture, so, one begins to see it as a classical interpretation of a straightforward inlaid chest.

All parts and inlays are original to this piece, and also desirable to connoisseurs who want the finest, this piece retains its original brass pulls.  We have french polished this bureau.   It’s a treasure!
