A Classical Carved Mahogany Rocker, probably Boston, c.1830

This rocker is quite substantial, with beautifully carved scrolled arms with lambs’ tongue detail at the top.  It is in fine condition with springs and good upholstery.  This very comfortable rocker, which moves away from the country idiom toward the more formal and substantial, includes a paneled serpentine apron below the seat.
