A Federal Tiger Maple Sofa, New England, c.1810

DEACCESSIONED

This sofa is composed of beautifully grained tiger maple that has developed a mellow patina over time.  This sofa is quite substantial in its construction with beautifully baluster turned arm supports.   The tiger maple shows on the top of the arms, supports, and all legs, except the rear, which are not meant to be seen.   We have left the upholstery on, however, it would need to be reupholstered with new webbing.   If fabric is provided, we can have this reupholstered, or it can be purchased as is, which is how we’re selling it.  This is a lovely, friendly sofa of pleasing scale and proportion, with tiger maple, the American satinwood.
