A Mid-sized Classical Mahogany Center Table, probably Boston, with Original Marble Top, c. 1825

DEACCESSIONED

Announcement!  This item will be available at auction from Neal Auction Company on January 26th, 2019.  Preview exhibition is currently underway.  Click here to see our listings at nealauction.com.

This center table is of a very desirable and useful size for most rooms (35 in).  The base is beautifully articulated, and is exceptional when compared to the usual way this form was reinterpreted for the masses with scrolled elephant feet.  This is a classy piece with a sectioned ovoid column of crotch grain mahogany on each surface.  The apron to this table is crossbanded and the marble is unquestionably original.  We have French polished this piece and it is in a fine state of preservation.

Height: 28 1/2 in. Diameter: 35 in.
