A Rare Carved Mahogany Upholstered Classical Armchair, possibly Southern, c.1830

This is an interesting chair.  The wood is heavy, dark, dense mahogany and is very heavy.   The arms and their supports are beautifully crafted, as are the legs.   Of particular interest is the back crest of this chair.  These are quite rare and relates to a chair from Philadelphia illustrated in the attached.  We attached also pictures of the frame.  It is completely original, and we have reupholstered it as it would have been from the frame up in its time.  It is in exhibit condition and these are extremely rare.
