A Robust Chippendale Dining Room Table with Carved Knees and Claw and Ball Legs, New York, c.1780

DEACCESSIONED

This table is composed of 3 solid mahogany boards that are dense and heavy; the tree they were sawn out of must have been immense.  The legs are strongly carved with fully developed shells and robust claw and ball feet.    This is a good-sized table in excellent condition, with a warm amber glow, revealing an old refinish and waxing.

Height: 28 1/2 in.  Width: 21 in. (leaves down) – 64 3/4 in. (leaves up)  Length: 51 1/4 in.
