A Monumental Mahogany Classical Shelf Clock, labeled M.G. Semon & Co. Plymouth, MA, c.1850

Provenance: Ames family, via Hirschl & Adler

This is an eight day, weight driven clock that is 40 inches tall.   The glasses on this clock are truly magnificent.   The dial has etched glass, the center is a reverse painting, all original, and the bottom glass, also etched.   Opening this clock up is historic material that all speaks for itself (see images).  
 
It is the best of the best in every respect: condition, form, provenance, and rarity.
