This is the only étagère we have seen that converts to a music stand.   It’s done in such a way that when collapsed, the music support, which is attached by pins, comes off for storage in one of the drawers.  It’s amazing that none of this was lost and has obviously been cared for through the years.  Even without the music stand, this étagère is one of the best, with two drawers  and beautifully turned column supports throughout.  The mahogany is dense and highly figured.  This piece is truly a rarity and well conceived.
