A Turned Maple and Pine Tavern Table, New England, mid 18th century

DEACCESSIONED

This is a traditional New England Tavern table with drawer, which is completely original (see details). This table also has its original one board pine top with baton ends and only its original large nails holding it down. The legs are turned and quite desirable and the stretchers at the bottom of all legs have nice wear through time.

The top has a beautiful historic surface, which we have waxed. Note, the old green paint underneath evidencing a once green color to the top a long time ago. The area within the skirt shows its validity through its period untouched color. This is a real tavern table with features desireable in this form, i.e. original drawer (most never had drawers), one board top, and turned legs.
