A Mahogany Patent Timepiece (Banjo Clock), Providence, RI, Walter H. Durfee, c.1900

In the world of American banjo clocks, Walter Durfee produced the finest reproductions of the famous Willard timepiece. Durfee was a perfectionist, and his hand is seen throughout the choice and quality of painting, wood, etc. The gold leafing is of the highest quality and the movement an E. Howard & Co. Boston #5.

Durfees have, over the years, gone up in value as they are truly the most superior among any other makers and are quite rare in the banjo form.  This clock is in pristine condition throughout, and the dial, hands, etc. are extremely fine.
