Catalog Number:

A Rare Pennsylvania Walnut William & Mary Turned Candlestand, c.1730

This candlestand is a seldom seen form and this example is a fine example of its design style. For a related candlestand, see below for a scan from Worldly Goods, Jack L. Lindsey. We have another of this type, see sw01568. These tables are quite rare and early. This table is in perfect condition with no repairs or alterations. Of note is that all surfaces are of a consistent, mellow aged walnut.

Obviously, this was a well-kept piece. Many of these tables do not have their original tops, and instead have replacements, a factor always worked into the price. This is as fine an example condition-wise as is ever available.
