A Mahogany and Federal Hepplewhite Pillar and Scroll Shelf Clock, Bishop & Bradley, Watertown, CT, c.1820

DEACCESSIONED

This clock has a superb provenance, Kirtland Crump, who handled this clock last. He’s one of the two major authorities in the field we recognize for handling fine legitimate clocks. What sets this clock apart from the rest is the reverse painting. Most of them have the standard scenes. This one, however, has a beautiful water scene, which is obviously a unique work, and clearly original to the clock.
