A Mahogany Serpentine Chippendale Card Table with Drawer, Newport, c.1770, Provenance, Leigh Keno

This card table is the best of the best, retaining its original drawer in the front. Most of these drawers are long since gone and few with drawers were ever made in the fist place. It retains an old surface and its original pateras flanking the drawer. The wood on the top is exceptionally figured with a vibrant redflame mahogany. The apron is further line inlaid with gadrooning below. The legs are molded, and the case has beautiful open brackets.
