A Queen Anne Diminutive Mahogany Drop-leaf Table, Centennial, last quarter, 19th century

To look at this table, one would definitely feel it to be an 18th century period example, but it’s not; probably 100 years later, where a lot of commemorative centennial examples were made, as if of the period.   There are many different qualities of centennial furniture and this example is one of the best, all composed of dense, heavy mahogany.

These small tables work beautifully next to a sofa, with maybe one leaf open. The compact style makes it extremely desirable. A period example would easily be many times the price, and except for age, this form is the best of the best.
