A Classical Mahogany Server with Liquor Storage Compartments, New York, c.1815, Phyfe Workshop or Contemporary of Equal Rank

This server is in magnificent condition throughout. It has been beautifully French polished and shows a most beautiful mahogany wood figure and color. It’s the type of server that belongs in a large Southern home, and no doubt, because of its fabulous condition, resided in such a home. It was probably made for one of the grand townhouses in New York, being built at the time…it’s that type of piece. The original cut glass pulls are magnificent, as are original brass side rails. See the liquor storage as we have never seen this form developed in this way. The mirrored cabinet doors have functioning locks with key.

The server is magnificent and makes a grand presentation.
