A Carved Mahogany Chippendale Turret-cornered Card Table, England, c.1780

This is a beautifully executed, high style piece of Chippendale furniture. Note the carved shells on the knees with carved scrolls, etc. (see detail). This table is further embellished with fine claw and ball feet and an apron which is finished with a carved quarter round molding. The drawer is original in all respects, and has a finely carved shell below. The top is solid mahogany.

This item has the label of Jack Partridge, one of the most highly regarded dealers in England with a gallery also in New York.
