**L** A Diminutive Inlaid Mahogany Hepplewhite Bowfront Bureau, New England c. 1815

This small bow front bureau has beautifully figured book-matched mahogany drawer panels bordered by line inlay and straight figured mahogany banding, as well as additional variegated above the skirt and edge of the top board . While it is not wide (35 in.), the flaring french feet have exceptional height and give this piece a striking presence. The sides and top are all solid figured mahogany. The brasses are period replacements cast in England from an original.
