A fine Inlaid Mahogany Hepplewhite, George III Demi-lune Side Table, or Server, England, c.1790

DEACCESSIONED

This is an English form rarely seen in America which is used as a side table, and can also be used as a server. This is a beautifully detailed piece with highly figured mahogany banded with satinwood. Of special note is the inlaid top, see below, which is special, with its central inlay in the back of the top and series of crossbanding at the edges (see detail).

Note the use of Rosewood and Satinwood elements. The entire piece has an old surface, which has been waxed through the years. The brasses are the original (see detail), which is quite rare, and the central drawer is functional. This piece is in a fine state of preservation.
