A Chippendale Mahogany Lowboy/Dressing Table, England, c.1780

DEACCESSIONED

This lowboy is an excellent example of the Chippendale form with its straight molded legs (see detail) and beautiful scalloping at the base of the apron. The front has an unusual arrangement of a long drawer above two smaller ones and is well worked within a very shapely apron. This piece has not been sanded or skinned, and the top reveals its history of marks through the years, which have been polished over through time. It has the wonderful “lived” look of a real period antique.

This piece is in excellent
condition with no major repairs or alterations.
