A Tiger Maple / Bird’s Eye Maple Two Drawer Workstand American, c. 1830

DEACCESSIONED

This table is a symphony of maple. The legs, while highly turned, rely on magnificent striped maple to beat the band. The sides are also tiger maple and the drawer fronts and top are bird’s eye maple. Bird’s eye maple elements are generally veneered, but this table is all solid maple, and the top is a hard-to-find single unjoined piece of bird’s eye maple. Also unusual, is that while this would usually be a one-drawer stand, there is a divide and there are two smaller drawers.
