A fine large-scale Sheraton 3-Drawer Worktable w/ Rope Legs, probably New York, c.1810

DEACCESSIONED

This work table is somewhat larger than work tables of its type and boldly executed with dynamic rope turnings that run in opposite directions alongside the upper case, providing strong visual interest. It is in a fine state of preservation, with vibrantly figured mahogany veneers. The top is solid and opens to reveal a writing surface. There is a candle slide and two additional drawers. Tacked inside the middle drawer is the mark of a respected antique furniture dealer who formerly owned this piece.
