A Set of 6 Classical Rosewood and Gilt Painted Lyre Chairs Including Two Armchairs, c.1810, England

DEACCESSIONED

It is rare to find a set of six chairs with Lyre backs in their original rosewood grain paint and decoration.  These chairs are early in the period, of small scale and are in fine original condition.  Of note is that this set retains its original two armchairs, which make the set extremely desirable.  In the world of caned furniture, this set is as good as it gets.  Please note the bamboo carving on the legs and styles.  These were originally hand-carved on solid stock.
