A Large Mahogany Drop-leaf Table (Dining) with Eight Reeded Legs, probably American, c.1810

DEACCESSIONED

This mahogany table is extremely wide and composed of solid mahogany boards of the finest ribbon grain. The leaves are very heavy, and the table was composed too have the two middle legs swing out and support the entire table in a very stable and comfortable way. The legs are beautifully reeded and have their old original brass casters.

The materials used to make this table are the best dense mahogany, as seen in the finest of the trade in this era.
