A Mahogany and Bird’s Eye Maple Worktable on Reeded Legs, Philadelphia , c.1810

DEACCESSIONED

This small worktable or small chest is typical of Sheraton Federal furniture manufactured in Philadelphia. It has shaped side flaps of solid mahogany. The inlaid panels of bird’s eye maple contrast beautifully against the dense Mahogany and has an elegant line inlay offsetting these panels. Note the drawers are also edged. The feet are beautifully reeded and formed in a typical Philadelphia style.
