Mahogany Chippendale style Tall Case Clock, Boston, 1890-1910

DEACCESSIONED

This clock is in original condition including its large finials. The silver dial is fully engraved, and quite desirable, as they hearken back to an early eighteenth century silver dial. The silvered dial is over a brass faceplate and the movement has beautifully sheened plates, typical of the quality of clocks produced at that time. Shreve, Crump & Lowe is like Boston’s Tiffany’s and known for fine jewelry, and antiques, et al.  Solid ribbon grained mahogany is used throughout; the mahogany on the
side, see attached.  This clock is tall and presents an imposing and
important image.  There are no replacements or restorations.  It is completely original, including the beveled glass door.
