Of  grand proportions, this painted chair i Baltimore Painted Furniture, page 67 (see scan below).   It appears that the center was a defining place for individual embellishment, i.e. clover leaf, portrait.  Also note the acanthus leafage on the front legs is similar to a pair of side chairs formerly in our collection (see item sw00056).
