The pediment is unusually stylized, as are the Gothic style feet. The mahogany is extremely figured and is in fine condition; the robust hinge supports supports are unusual. This casepiece with traditional hinge lid was probably from a New York shop, i.e. Meeks or contemporary and exhibits fine cabinet construction throughout.
