Federal Sheraton Mahogany Three-Part Dining Room Table, Boston, c.1810.

DEACCESSIONED

This table of extraordinary width uses double hung leaves to its fullest length to create its size. The heavy leaves ar all of dense solid grain Santo Domingo mahogany, the ribbon grain vividly contrasts each leaf. Each leaf and top is of one unjoined board. The apron is of figured mahogany and the legs are of Sheraton reeded style. This is one of the finest tables we have handled and it must have graced an important dining room.
