A Classical Mahogany Drop Leaf Table, probably Boston, c.1820

DEACCESSIONED

This table is composed of the finest solid Cuban mahogany, all of single board construction; nothing is joined or glued up.  Note the dramatic figuring or striping in the wood; it’s the best of the best.   The drawer is flanked by columns, giving a degree of dimension, and the original pull is exceptional.

The table is supported by three deeply shaped legs, which, when used, give ample leg room, and the casters are quite elaborate and uncommon.   Above is a beautifully turned column with a spiral reeding of great depth.

This table is in perfect condition, with no repairs, breaks, or alterations.
