A Hepplewhite Federal Mahogany and Tiger Maple Card Table with Central Oval and Panels, Massachusetts., c. 1790, Provenance, Capt Pearce Estate, Providence, Rhode Island

DEACCESSIONED

This table was acquired
in 1994 at Northeast Auctions when they auctioned
off the estate of Capt. Pearce of Providence,
RI. This was a legitimate family piece and in
original first surface. Much of the grunge hides
the tiger maple apron. The card table is probably
Massachusetts, however, this piece descended in
Pearce’s family.
I was attracted
to it because of its local Provenance, first surface,
and condition.
