Federal Inlaid Mahogany Pembroke Table, probably New York, c.1790

DEACCESSIONED

This small table in the Hepplewhite style is composed of strongly figured mahogany with a rich amber red color, and the wood especially shows itself on the top. The embellishment is quite restrained relying on line inlay with a 3-line motif flanking the drawer. The drawer retains its original dovetailed construction and rosehead nails, all of which has stood up through the years.  The leaves have a stylized canted corner with a double line of inlay.  The brass pulls, we believe, are original.
