A Satinwood Hepplewhite style Tambour Secretary, turn of the Century

DEACCESSIONED

This small secretary is composed of satinwood that makes a most eloquent statement and is inlaid with contrasting elements (please click below for details to appreciate this aspect).  While about 50-70 years old, the craftsmanship is all benchmade and dovetailed.  A notable feature is that above the prospect door is a large paneled secret drawer. The brasses are historically true and of a rare pattern.  For a small scale highly decorative piece of case furniture, it has all the bells and whistles put together in an historically correct and tasteful manner.
