This rare form is of small scale and embellished with figured mahogany both around the sofa silhouette as well as the skirt which features a carved shell, etc.

The french style feet
are finely carved and the rear two are clustered somewhat closer together  It is reminiscent of earlier Neoclassical furniture and is a first expression of Neoclassical motifs which were later to be developed throughout the century.
