An Early Diminutive Cherrywood Queen Anne Highboy, Rhode Island, c.1750

DEACCESSIONED

This highboy is of small scale, only
36 inches wide, and is in pristine condition. The
small Queen Anne brasses are all original and the
secondary woods are chestnut, indicative of its Rhode
Island origin. This highboy is indeed a lady…it
has very fine long legs with a small scale chest above,
and a traditional embellished skirt with scrolls on
the side and drop finials, et al on the front, see
details below. The construction throughout is finely
crafted, indicative of Rhode Island craftsmanship.

This piece came out of a local estate
in Rhode Island through a recently deceased local
collector and was obviously treasured as an heirloom.
