A Carved Mahogany Classical Card Table, probably New York, c.1820

DEACCESSIONED

This is a large-sized gutsy card table of the best carving and wood quality. Note the very deep acanthus carving on the legs…it’s the best. If that weren’t enough, the brass casters are truly exceptional and the only ones of this type we have seen. The central column is highly turned and carved with a broad acanthus leaf. The leaves on top are solid mahogany of the very best ribbon grain type.
